Wow!! That's a Revenger in the top line of pics (the one below)!!
I clicked on it thinking 'hey, that's a flippin lovely boat!' and then twigged after looking at it for a min!
Any idea of history of that boat, or where they got it from? Goes to show there must be someone with the original moulds somewhere! Would be great to save up and get a new hull made in a few years!
Cheers, James

Those 30's are in my opinion, the very nicest of the Velocity's. Same boat as Mr Noisy. 1st mono past 100mph I think. Look like a real nice rough water boat too.

Here are some more pics of the boat and a team link, mate.

I think that it is definately no Phantom 25 like they claim in the link. It really seems to be a Revenger.

It can't be a Phantom 25, coz in that first pic, there's a Ring in front of it!
Quite Impossible!

Definately a revenger, not a phantom. Still not sure how that ring got in front, i can only assume it was in the process of being lapped!!
The people who run that site don't seem to know much about their boats in the series, apparently it's a Phamton 25, with a 3 litre merc 250, when it's a Revenger with a 350! Unless the people now making them have called themselves 'Phamton'?
Great looking boat, thanks for all those pics!
Cheers, James

Jon,
Didn't Ben Mazur run a Velocity 320 single engine as a corporate "Experience" boat out of Ocean Village a few years back?
Id like to know how it handled the "Solent Slop"?
(I think it might have been their 22 that was first past the 100. I will investigate further and report back).

I can confirm that Steve Stepp first broke the 100mph barrier in his 30ft in 1980.
Also "Still Crazy" No. 111 the Velocity 30 in the picture in my earlier post has just found a new owner after sitting unloved in a Florida Boat Yard for many years. Its nice to know our cousins across the pond are just as misty eyed and nostalgic about old Race boats as the Brit's.

Yes he did, after it raced as a GT class boat. I'll leave him to report on it's ability. All I know is, that 93mph Velocity32 struggled, and very rarely managed to beat Roger Severy's 74mph Phantom 28 cruiser ' Wentworth Auto & Marine" when the waves came. In fact, in Rogers first ever race in his 28, he made the V32 look a little silly in the 'Torbay slop'.
Roger led for a good part of the race, then 'got lost' with a nav error, ending up half a lap behind, but caught up again to take the win by a 1/4 mile or so. I say win, he was actually in the class below the Velocity. The bastard lapped us that day! Roger was definitely 'fast fast' when it blew.
Ben also ran in Mr Noisy on & off for many years, and I know he's very fond of that boat indeed. Reckons it's one of the softest riding boats he's been in. They're very 'old school' offshore.

I wonder where that is? That's 'Limit up' in the background, so late 70's?..early 80's?
Not sure if it's Cowes.

Here is a link in which you can see some very nice video sequences of the Revenger vs. the Ring 21 at Valras (race is starting after 1:50min):
http://offshorepassion.kewego.fr/?ne...g=iLyROoafM7bk
Nice fight between the Revenger and the Ring. But I don't think that the Ring has been lapped. It seems to be a pretty fast boat...
