Nice one Paul !! I'd rather not remember Newquay, seem to think I had a bad Bacardi !!

Early Gringo !! Not quite an XCat !!

I don't think you will get any more classic than this.

Weather

I remember that weekend - Weather was warmish, very flat & sunny.

Sadly, just a 2nd in 3B for Ciao with the "new" Stapley cat - Brian Eastham in the Yamaha powered P16 race deck "Kin ell Fire" was far too quick.

Thanks Splitpin and thanks Paul for uploading. I showed it to dad today and we relived some of the 'classic' days

The first year I raced, only the one in Poole, me and Gary appleyard had loads of fun mixing it with a couple of 2L boats in a 15 ring/90 yam, the next 15 years cost us both a bloody fortune.

I remember going to a Neil Holmes Christmas drinks party - Godstone, Surrey in 1988 when Barrie was talking about the idea of running XR2's in OCR.

On an absolute positive note, this thread and the old footage has and will show how the class and sport has evolved with the times. Therefore everything can evolve again. I think all can be good! Sure ideals and views will differ but that is life and i know that something will just click into place and it will develop itself.
