Honda 130 used to do 52 mph when they had the set of bracket in the first year of racing, one of the reasons given at the time for taking it them off was to make it faster? They then did 49 mph.

The new 150 record run was 54 mph

The new 225 record run was 67 mph, long way from quoted 75mph

Technically it's not a step - ask Bob! They really are banned!

OCR is a ski boat class - I think the no step rule is to make it fair - Rules are generally made on grounds of safety of the competitors officials and spectators, keeping the cost down and to keep it fair.

By the way Bren - as an ex OCR racer (navigator) I can confirm the class has (at least) it's fair share of nutters!

225's

Can you use jackplates in the class, the engines look very low. Not that I would realy like to jack a half ton of engine any higher than possible but it might stop the prop blowing out in turns.

Are any modifications allowed to the underwater gear, prop, nosecone, etc? What props are available for those engines?

Scuse me for dragin up an old post but didn't Dag Pike have to go to the states to teach the yanks how to drive fast with steps? I.E if you trim in for a turn you stick more bow in the water than you have stern then you start to hook and probably flip? so the cure was to stay trimmed out especialy if you want to change direction.
anyone else heared this?
