Southampton Water is a commercial shipping port. The port authority have eyes everywhere, you'd be unlikely to get away with it - unless you recovered the boat from bognor or somewhere.
The langstone harbour master however - couldn't possibly comment....

So if you have a liquid speedo your fekked with the tide up ya butt in fact you could break a speed limit just floating with the tide in some places ?????
Just take mudeford - 4 kts limit tide runs faster than that

Yeh, if they don't like the look of you you're knicked!!
When we used to dinghy race, we used to regularly break the speed limit, but I never heard of a sailor getting done for speeding. One rule for one....

Essex Police have radar guns and Salcombe in Devon has had them for years, My brother holds the current record from Kingsbridge to Salcombe 53mph on the radar gun (limited to 8knots on the Estuary) They tried to fine him £1000, but he was under 16, so they threatened to remove my Dads mooring rights and brought in a bylaw to stop under 16's using boats over 9.9hp. Howver if you did you RYA powerboat level II you could be under 16 and drive a boat over 9.9hp, brother obviously went off and did his RYA Level II ! Which really pissed off the habour master when he went to nick him the following year for driving the boat!!!!!!!!!

The Langstone Harbour HM in has a radar gun and uses it.
I got a ticking off and written warning like the above for wakeboarding in Langstone Harbour on Sunday. Apparantly the ski season is not until 1st May. I have a ski-license but had not been informed the ski-season has been moved back a month this year..

I got boarded by special branch in two black tooob boats off Westminster on the Thames, and was held or an hour under terrorism laws as I drove up to th eparlament in the sunseeker.
It took a phone call to a friend to convince the men in black to leave the boat, which they did but got the 'standard' police to come and do a stop and search on the boat.
Really stupid.
They tried that again last year enroute to the Oxford Cambridge boat race. I told them they could not board unless they had permission from my C.O. - which they ignored and boarded anyway. So to take the piss we stated that we considered ourselves to be 'African' on their stop and search form - to screw their racial harisment ratio!

I spotted that too, my P20 sat quite low in the water, hence I was interested in the differance with the P21. It should be noted that apache passengers are in their seats and chaos (whos looks quite heavy) seems to be sitting on the dash a little further forward.
