As strong as new in structural repairs or reworking things is just not possible.
But you can get more than satisfactory results.. when its done properly, as you can see in this topic.
Besides, i thought when changing to inboard, the transom doesnt get as much of a beating as it would have gotten when rigged with outboards?
So it'll survive, for sure.. Great job!

Well thats not really always true ,with outdrives attached to the transom ,in this case a set #4 ssm drives with boxes, and the horsepower that is going to turn the drives,I would say if you have for instance a set BBC with 750 hp (example)
you have a 1500hp force pushing/pulling the transom ,with outboards you have to put a serieus amount of those to the transom to do this.
Weight allone does not hurt so much ,I agree 4 outboards are heavier than a set SSM#4 drives on boxes, but the greatest force is the rough water pounding ,and the reentering in the water that causes the highest stress on the transom.
Imagine a 1500 pound torque force ,pushed by the props that leaves the water on a big wave ,and reenters back ,the forces are tremendous high, the more if the throttle man is tired, and forget to pull the sticks back.
in short time it cost a drive ,or 2 .

Working on the dash today, trying to fit all the instruments in. Job not made easy as they're all "monster" gauges!

Also been giving the steering a good coat of "looking at", these are just to get the fluid through the transom to the rams.
Struggling to get my head round -6, -8, npt, AN etc!

That would depend if it was -6 plus -8 or -6 minus -8 wouldn't it.
