thats what we fit a 60, only due to CE marking allows upto 70HP, but Nigel at Dual Outboards used to fit 75's giving speeds of upto 57mph, he was clocked on the severn at 56.8 by police radar gun!

Gav, did you build the original boat/ plug. Who designed it?
It's a very neat little boat. You should put a pad on it!

No, it was designed by Ray Innes, Innes design for a subsidary of Sealine called fibersonic It was re-decked by Dave Wally of sealine in the early 90's. and produced by ual outboard services until 1998 which is when i purchased the moulds and CE'd the boat.

Was the CE expensive/ complicated?
How do they calculate max HP, I have the RCD guidlines book but it's not very spacific.

Was about £1200 and quite complicated, we went with Lloyds register and they did the testing manually, ie Swamp testing , capsize testing, dangle weight test fully laden, The test in the water required us to mount the equivalent weight of a 100hp motor in steel on the transom!! And then tried to sink it, the requirement was that once the boat had taken all the water it was going to, should still float at a reasonably level attitude without turning over. Other calculations ie freeboard etc were done on a computer program, i have sinse learned that this was all donethe hard way and in future should all be done by mathematical calculations
Still, i enjoyed doing it!
