Trick with twin 250XS's

I've been working on this boat for several weeks. It's done in our standard lamination schedule and tipped the scales at 1,180 lbs. bare.

The boat will be powered with 2 Mercury 250XS's and the top speed is expected in the 114-118mph range.

It has Livorsi Monster Series instrumentation and will get IMCO Marine side mount hydraulic steering rams. Throttle a shifting duties will be handles by Livorsi Marines race control box with arched base.

Here is a shot of the transom. It's built using Coosa Composites Bluewater board. The transom alone has 17 layers of glass.

We also built the cockpit liner using two colors, accenting the molded in non-skid in a light grey. I really liked the results

One last shot of the bilge area that shows the placement of the 4 transom knees. The knees are glassed the the transom, tunnel top, deck and first primary bulkhead.

We can build these boats for shipment anywhere in the world. Providing the US Government has no restriction/ embargos with the destination country.

Pricing is available at www.trickpowerboats.com

Transportation to any US shipping port can be arranged at a cost of $1.50 per mile.

Nice rig ,I think it will be neckswapping acceleration with those 250 xs,s.
I think also you wil run out of propellor with these engine,s,I assume you use 1,62:1 ?
I never saw a 21 with 2 x 3 litre,s, but can imagine that it is going to like a tunnel extension to carry the weight in the back ?

Keep us informed about how she goes, and pics ff course.

cheers Sterling

Nice job Jeff!

I particularly like the moulded-in anti skid areas in the cockpit. Why don't more builders do that?
That boat looks awesome from behind. Scary even!

I agree, very nice!

Can I just ask, when fitting a twin, is it best to have the engines wider apart, like shown on the Trick in this thread? or closer together?

It can be done to place them like a v bottem very close together.
I,ve seen it on a silverwing cat,but in the rough you have 2 midsections that are unprotected ,so worst scenario, it could rip a whole engine off.
Mounted like on that Trick, the midsections are sitting behind the sponsons.
I,ve had a Cougar catamaran with 4 2,4 EFI,s 2 where also mounted in the tunnel ,I had to made 2 deflectors, about 5 ft long that I laminated into the tunnel,so the mids could sitting behind the deflectors ,and where safe from the rough stuff .

We feel it is best to have them behind the sponsons rather than in the tunnel. Like Sterling said... This way the midsections are somewhat protected and do not take the pounding that they would be subjected to if placed in the tunnel

The boat will be back from the paint shop on Friday. Here is a pic of the seat. I guess it gives away the color scheme.

top speed

I was curious if you already did some topspeed runs?
And even more if you did run out of prop?

Any idea about water press ?
Or are you going to externals ?

thx sterling

Stering,

I have not finished rigging the boat yet.

I expect to be able to swing 34"s which should put the speed around 116mph with 7% slip.

The motors are 3/4" above the bottom measure at the center of the prop shaft so the water pressure should be fine with no external pick-ups
