One seems to still be running rather rich, and when he got back in from the run we videod, he had lost some oil from the st/bd moatah (about half a cup wound up in the bilge) but seems to be staying together.

He increased the oil cooler size from 3x9, to 3x18 (inches) yesterday, but is still seeing too higher oil temp.

ran 4700rpm on 30's yesterday (1.36:1) 4 up

runs quicker on 28's but revs were wondering into the blow-up zone!

I owuld really like to know more about your setup, cause i have the excat same piece iof kit?

How high is you engine of the pad?
What prop are you running?
Do you have low water pick up?

Looks like at realy nice rooster - me cannot get one

Is also found that my engine is bolted on 1,5 cm too much to the left!?!? Maybe that's why it chinewalkes at +65mph?

Even with sundays much improved performance, I reckon my only chance of not looking a complete nob is if The TRUCK himself drives. If Mrs Truck's behind the wheel, i better hope my over-complicated (welfare) motor decideds to come alive.

I can answer a couple of those questions for you.

motor is a 3.0 litre 225hp Mariner ('96)

Boat is a '96 P21 (from Sittingbourne)

Prop is a Lazer II 25" pitch, bog standard.

lower unit is a standard 'domestic' type (without low water pickup)

as for engine height/offset, would have to measure it to be sure, but offset looks about 2" to the right, and motor height appears to be set with bullet-tip of lower unit about 3-4" below running surface.

No setback, no powerlift.

boat runs very stable and tops out at about 72mph.

we're gonna temporarily rig a Gaffrig speedo to verify our speed.
