Great pictures ned,

I must say that the T/GT Class has always been my favourite.

Ive got a nice pic of "Dog Gone" hanging on my landing. lovely sounding boat she was.

Other boats i remember seeing were "Debenhams, Rainbow bears, Propeller Shirts, Follett Motors, Casino Tivoli, Uno"?

Can anyone else jog my memory with a walk down memory lane?

No, I did a load of work on, then a few races in 'Debenhams', a 52' Ali triple diesel Class 1 boat, that boat became 'Shockwave', and has I think now gone to the great powerboat race in the sky!

I also raced in 'Hospitality Inns', which was a four litre Donohoo/Hicks cat that I looked after for a while (mechanically) along with Assagai (class II Quad motor Donohoo/Hicks cat), and the team got invited to race in The middle east (Dubai & Abu Dhabi) for a big noise dude out there, I'd only looked after the boat here as engineer when it was four litre, but we re-rigged as six litre (2 x 2.5 efi, instead of 2 x XR2) and got flown to Abu Dhabi with the boat in a United Arab Emirates Air Force C130, which was a blast. Then had a season there, flying out for a couple of weeks at a time for each race. That was 92/93 I navigated in that boat.

will try to find some pics later.

I think Johnson might have come up with a real Boatmad winter project.

How about a thread where we come up with all offshore boats that have raced in British waters along with pics.

Might be a stupid idea but it just might make the long dark winter pass a little more quickly.

'Vladivar', either was, or became 'Aquacultura'

'Westons Kodak' became 'Petrel Stainless Steel', then 'Sweet Dreams'

'Raven Estates' became 'Onyx'

'Flying Flipper' became 'Flipin Shytalk'

'Buzzard Breath' became 'VC Systems'

'Fullers Transport' became 'Giro'....is that how he paid for it Ned?

'Spirit of J & B' became the Maystar sport-cruiser

'Rijuga' used to be 'Double 2 Shirts'

'Fays one' became 'Simply the Best'

'Bad to the Bone' used to be 'Shadow Warrior'

I have to disagree, 'Absolutely Ridiculous' was a total embarrassment right from the start.

Mebbe we need a 'Where are they now' thread! (the boats, not the drivers)
