Vat 69

Starting to break into the junk room looking for that polly perkins stuff.
Here is a very rare pic "Western "Credit" Bristol Cat - Keith Horsman 69 round britain.
Accounted well up to its retirement when you consider it was up against Class 1 & II hardware.
As I mentioned in a previous thread this one is a goner the old boy found it out swindon way in a field in the winter of 82, deck was totally rotted away and the bottom was breaking up most of the Gel had split from the outside.
( Glass hull wooden deck)

Funny not to different to the Buzzi cats that followed many years later

Will pop up some more of this vintage over the next few nights early start

Always interesting to see what was created - must have been some exciting times. Shame there is nowhere near as much activity / experimentation today.

Also bearing in mind limiations of mechanicals and build materials / processes in those days some retty amazing speeds were found. Even more so if you look at motor racing and the work carried out on the streamliners for example.

Don't feel like going back to working on RIB designs for the rest of the day now - should be off to design a new raceboat!
