Names familiar, wasn't it something to do with John Miller, I seem to recall talk about it 3 or 4 years ago but nothing came of it, although I think the name got sold for a large amount of money. Could be talking crap though. David S would be able to shed some light on it all.

I do think the promo is a bit tasteless using video of the Victory crash that killed the driver at Cowes 10 years ago.

And it's also odd showing a Buzzi rib barrel rolling in a promo for Cat racing.

Looks like an old advertising video?? the podium at the end is from the race in Arendal 1999 but there are som newer parts aswell.
Apart from UIM, APBA and OSS i havent heard of any other organisations who races supercats. But what do I know??

NEW POWERBOAT SERIES TO LAUNCH IN 2001 - 28 Sep 01

The Television Corporation (TTC), the UK-based television production and distribution company, has signed a contract with APBA Offshore, the world?s largest powerboat organisation, to create the Ultracatz Global Challenge, a new Grand Prix powerboat race series.

The contract means that nine Grand Prix race destinations have now been agreed for 2001 with the first Grand Prix race to take place in Hong Kong Harbour at the end of January 2001. Other locations will include Australasia and the United States.

Formerly, powerboat races were staged on a one-off basis. Said Chris Rowlands, chief executive of the Television Corporation Plc: ?The Ultracatz Challenge will become a reality and I am confident we will be able to unlock the huge potential in bringing power boat racing to television audiences. This is a particularly glamorous sport and one that we believe will have the same attraction as Formula 1 motor racing.?

TTC has formed a 50/50 joint venture with sponsorship and powerboat industry experts to develop the commercial exploitation of the series. TTC expects the new Grand Prix competition will contribute extra revenues through sponsorship, international syndication rights, promotional material and merchandising.
