Class 3

Where have all the class 3 boats gone?……bar for the odd Scorcerer and a few Avengers known to exist there is little evidence of the old raceboats from the late 60′s….and there were a lot of AVENGER 21′S..Red Aliigator, Screwdriver, Shady Lady, Badger where is AVENGER alias SCAVENGER? The Levi designed Double M hulls…Vertigo… Towmotor

The fate of the class 3 craft seems to be more disasterous than the C1 and 2 boats…and from the early years the one off’s are even rarer, its a miracle Thunderflash survived…what happened to the Tremletts and Stapley’s…back in the early 80′s I had a chance to buy Volare from a guy in Boscombe I wonder what happened to her? no matter how many times you traul through Boats and Outboards or ebay very little appears. Most became firewood I suppose unless you know better!

Ha ha Class three vintage boats ! I'm currently restoring a 19foot Avenger Easy Rider and trawl e bay and gum tree for boat, power boat, speed boat etc.
There seem to be quite a few Avengers, marshals, phantoms about principle because they are fibre glass, look to good to scrap !
Recently on e bay there was a metallic red Chameleon !
Anything wooden that hasn't been looked after unfortunately falls victim to either rot or bonfire !
I did see a lovely old Flectcher Arrowshaft in Spain recently on the water
Now and again a vintage phantom 23 will pop up.
I suppose though that modern ones were more forgiving !

My good friend is the owner of class 3 power boat - Shady Lady (15)
She has now been restored back to her race beauty!

I Would like to see if i am able to get hold of Nobby Neivens to arrange for him to see the old girl once again !
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Time for a classic racer

Hello all
I have just sold my cruiser and am looking for a Classic racer. I am keen to buy, restore or maintain a Fairey Hunstsman, probably a 31, and ideally an ex Cowes Torquay boat.
I live in Kent so would like to find something like Seven O Seven. Can anybody help?

Goldhawk Motors on the goalhawk road, was to the side of what was a total garage, opposite sidemwas an esso which is now a majestic wine place.
Jack Lusted used keep Jersey Cow in Minford Gardens ( His daughter is on here Kim) and my old boy kept his down Faroe Road. All within a mile or 2 of each other. Wouldn't fancy trying that these day would be nicked in a flash.
