115 outboard

Hi all, I'm just about to purchase what I think is a cheap phantom 18 which has a Johnson 115 . Does anyone know if this old engine is reliable and are parts still obtainable? All I know is that it's a v4? It all looks tidy and I'm getting for a grand as the guys knocking down his garage to build an extension so has no where to keep it

Looks like a late 80's model. They had a great power to weight ratio as the V4 115 1632cc 20" was around 139 kgs. What's the serial # ?

It's a p16 but that engine is shite - if you can get the outfit cheap get it and out the motor on eBay - someone will buy it - then get a 85 or 90 yam - that way you will have a real good boat

Thank me later

If the engine is newer than 1989 it should
Have the QuickStart module, which is autochocke
And smoothed idleling. Could be quite ok to the price.
Most parts are available. Check Crowley marine in the us' webpage.
