2.5 Rev limiter

Does anyone know? If there is a safe way to raise the rev limits on a standard 2.5 - 200hp - 2003 carb engine. According to the manual, the rev limiter is incorporated in the Control Module, as below. Would be interested to hear, if anyone knows.

Cheers

Peter

The control module provides rev-limit (carb models), bias control, shift stabilizer, idle stabilizer,
injector timing signal (EFI models), and low oil warning.
On carburetor models, the rev-limiter affects the cylinders in the following sequence
2-3-4-5-6-1. As the engine rpm exceeds the maximum specification (5900 ± 100), the
control module will retard the timing on cylinder #2. The controller will retard the timing
a maximum of 30 degrees and then, if necessary, stop spark on the cylinder. If the engine
rpm is still above the maximum specification, the controller will begin to retard timing on
the next cylinder, then stop spark, continuing in sequence until the engine rpm drops below
the maximum specification.

Peter has CDM type ignition that has a rev limit built in, not a seperate module. I think he wants to know how to remove the limit.
Rapair do a modified unit without a rev limit function. www.rapair.com

Hi Tris, I'm in the search for extra speed, when not skiing or pleasure.

More revs would sacrifice power so I would think it in the prop pitch.
what speed are you getting and what are you after?
