496HO v 502 carb

Hi all,

I've been offered a 496 HO which got wet (didn't go under) in exchange for a 454 long block i've got.

Question is, should i go for it and rebuild over the winter, or do i stick with the 502 carb motor i've got at the mo?

James

502 carb motor

As the saying goes "Theres no substitute for cubic inches!" The 502 will give 500hp all day long and will cost the same to build as any other big block.

Wow, forgot about this thread!

Well the 496HO turned out to be a 502mpi, which i then pretty much swapped for the supercharger rig I've got now. Probably should've used all the parts to MPI my block and keep the rest for spares, but I've got ADD so i bought the blower!!
