If so what with, safely?

some helmets can have the polysterene damaged by painting, this i know from my motorcycling days,i think the fumes do the damage.

As most paint shop's now use water based paints this shouldn't cause you any problems.

I have painted many using water based paints with no ill effects.

Cyco's correct it used to be the solvents in both cellulose and 2 pack paints which would attack the and weaken the substrate.

If you do a google, the policy is never use cellulose, for above reasons, but enamels are OK.

Sounds like it'll be the old Revell model paints then...

Will check with manufacturers too as the shell has been painted by them already.

Thanks
