ALKO hubs

Anyone know the best place to buy ALKO hubs?

Need 1 for an SBS trailer but they wanted over £150 for the unit and bearing.

Cheers

Al

Another vote for western towing for all things Alko.

That said last time round for bearings for me I got a direct match for the sealed for life bearings with the friendly motor factors and wedged out 6 quid a bearing instead of close to 30. Seem to remember they were off a VW van

..vauxhall cavalier? Pop the bearing and get the number...any decent bearing factors should sort you out.

Problem is the retaining circlip has rusted into the hub so badly that you cant see where 1 starts and the other ends so really I need the hub and bearing.

Feckin trailers

4 or 5 stud hub? I bought 4 new axles a few years ago and they sent the wrong hubs, they replaced them but didn't want the old ones back!

The one I am after is a 4 stud 200mm diameter with a 100 PCD (70mm between two studs).

I think it is a Euro Drum 2051. Id appreciate it if you'd have a look and see if the ones you have got would be any good??

Cheers both

Al

Sounds about right. I'll have a look tomorrow for you, it's a bit dark now in the shed!

Looks like some thieving git has helped themselves. Got two left but both have the same if not worse problem. Circlip totally rusted in on one and on the other actually welded in. You can see why I replaced them

Are you sure you can't get yours apart? A little bit of heat around it should get it moving and then you will need to use a press to get the old bearing out. I use the press to put new bearings too.

Unfortunately thay are completely f*cked and will almost definitely need replacing. Thanks for looking though

No rush Tony - thanks again for your help. My Bro drivers past drivers every day so no worries collecting if you do find them.

Cheers

I've got some brand new ones on an unused axle assembly, the plan is to swap them for the 5 stud ones in my photo, but I'll have to find the "big" spanner to be able to remove them. How many do you need?
