I have a 2.5 exhaust tuner and when I eventualy get it apart a XR2 tuner,is there any advantage/disadvantage to using the 2.5 tuner- the cowl plate and leg are 2.5 size ports so I have been told. the motor is an XR2 Cheers Nic

Nic,
If the tuner and the tuner adapter alignes with hole openings your fine. If the openings have a direct mismatch in size most of the time they cannot be machined out to match as there is not enough metal to blend and hold an exghaust gasket.. Any of the bell style tuners work very well on most 2,5 engines. Most custom tuners work on the higher rpmed engines ...Just remember to spend some time gasket matching as well as blending the point where everything mate, the cowling pan is a point where lost HP can be captured by attention to flow..
My thoughts,
Jay

Jay, the XR2 is a 2.0, its basically an sst120 motor, spinning the right way with the timing put back on.

No worries jay, figured you guys knew the XR2 as a 2.0 150.
The race version was really only a European motor!
Also, how much for a set of top pinned pistons for a 2.5 ?
