Astounding technological development

According to Progression Powerboats of Long Island N.Y, they have come up with a totally radical new hull design - the variable deadrise hull. Now why hasn't anyone thought of this before.

It's not unusual at all, my P28 has it, the ring/Extreme 24/26 has it. It just has a shallower deadrise along the centreline, which makes for a faster boat, but has an increasing deadrise (deeper 'V') toward the chines, so when it roughs up, you still get some of the benefit of the softer but slower 'deep'V'' hull form.

It's not rocket science, and certainly aint new!

Isn't that just a step to effectively shorten the hull a little?

DEADRISE- Measurement of the angle between the bottom of the vessel and it's widest beam. A vessel with a 0` deadrise has a flat bottom, high numbers indicate deep V shaped hulls.

And to further illuminate - complicate matters
