bow heavy marshan

moved my fuel out the bow tank to the rear tank and still seems bit heavy up front getting out the hole...will removing my 6" jack plate make it better or worse? ime thinking reducing setback will improve by moving motor forward but am i right...marshan19 btw which are renowned for being nose heavy at the best of times ive dropped the motor back down to below bottom which has helped but need more bow lift without trimming to far out...

Removing setback is moving weight forward, the opposite of what youre trying to do.

How do you mean bow heavy coming out? If the bows not pointing at the sky thats a good thing, no?

What prop are you running ? sounds like you need a bow lifting prop (high rake),something like a 4 blade trophy.

funny boats these marshans as in its the 1st boat ive owned that seems to not like getting on the plane easy unless your trimmed out a little then its a fine ballance avoiding bad cavitation...just trying to find a more nose up ballance without trim iff you know what i mean..

Try some different props
Back in the day the 18 footers raced with bronze four blade cleavers.
You will get more bow lift with a laser then the high five .
Go careful !

Ditch the high 5 mate, get yourself a laser or trophy and give that a go first, i wouldnt risk a chopper as i tried one once on a boat like yours and it scared the shit outa me due to the fact that the hull is very narrow

Have a look at the bottom of the transom.
If its e V down to the keel its an Old School 18 from the seventies.
If it has got a tunneled out inverted U shape where there could be a keel instead of the V-then its a 19 footer.
I think this was done to allow higher mounting of V6 motors as they came along.
21 foot was a bit of a beast and perhaps the Marshan to have,
but I think the 18 was better then 19
Which one u got then ?
They are all nice boats really

Why did Terry Sleap stop producing the Marshans and what happened to the moulds?
