Bow tanks - educate me please!

At the moment my RIB has a roll of lead in the hard-nose. I'm thinking this is a bit gash, and want to have something more suitable and adjustable

We're going to be cutting out the floor to return the fuel tank to it's original size (it was enlarged by a previous owner and we're unsure how well, plus it's absolutely massive and all that fuel sloshing around can't be good for balance or handling!)

While the floor is up I figure it would be the ideal time to make and fit a bow ballast tank. What kind of size should I be looking at, and where's the best place to fit (and buy) the fittings and controls?

Thanks

Paul

K4 plus website may have some fittings you could also see if someone has any used gear on here, the controls you can use a standard throttle if youve hot any old ones kicking about, depends how much weight you want as to how big you want

Paul, I've got a salmon controller you can have and a load of cables... Got the triangular tank from the front of the revenger too. I'm sure I've got a pickup somewhere, if not I'll find you something.
You want it as forward as possible, but also as low as possible, so it has the maximum effect with the least weight, whilst also not raising the COG.
Give me a call and I'll fish it all out for you.

Cheers, James

Nice one cheers mate! That's why I want to do it while the floor is up, so we can get it right in the V down low.

Are you at your vinery at all this week? I'm delivering out Jerbourg so I can pop in around lunchtime, or in an evening

I'm on the round Saturday so I'll swing by on my way back and see if you're there. There's no rush for the tank anyway yet! Me and Barnsey are hoping to get my motor back in one piece on Saturday afternoon, ready for a sea-trial Sunday weather permitting. If that gets done then whether the results are good or bad she'll be into the shed and stripped down for the re-fit next week hopefully!

Ahh, well i know just the guy for having those made at a reasonable price! I'm working on designing a range of pickups and controls at the mo. Drop me a PM or something if you're interested, it'd be handy to have a few people to buy the first batch!
