I generally start the engine in gear - make for fun with the mooring lines

Going to have the gearbox fixed and a new Fat shaft fitted the chap is going down on Friday to drop the gearbox off and also look at shortening the leg (taking the middle section out) he recons the prop is too deep thats why im only getting 4500RPM

Any ideas??

My engine has never shifted form neutral to in gear whilst the engine running, i start it up and run for a few mins to warm up, then switch off, push in to gear and start, it starts instantly and off we go. I never had any problems with starter or gearbox
