I was considering what prop to stick on my boat today, i'm undecided between a few...

is this the correct site with which to discuss this?? or are we only allowed to have threads about irrelivant drivle and people whom wish to outkast themselves?

lets stop ****in around with all this shit! when you're at home on shitty dial-up, its really annoying to come online and wait ages for pages to load up to find its just a load of shite!!!!

come on this forum and talk about boats or madness!! The names sorta gives the idea away!!!

Its NOT called Boat Backstan forum!!!

Captain Annoyed!

Matt, feel free to moderate as you wish!

it looks certain to be my 200 merc....as i've said in other posts,

trouble is, i'm finding it really difficult to find something say 100hp to stick on my fletcher to flog as a package.

so if something newer/nicer & maybe +hp came along for the phantom i could be tempted if it were cheap enough!

I utterly concur matt,

but Mr Barsch reckons he considered my case carefully.........i gave him the weights blah blah and intended use of boat and her reckons that long before i attempt anything in the way of hoting it up (30ish hp should be available withoout "internal stuff" aparantly) i should

have solid mounts, offshore mid section, improved gearbox....this, i'm told will be approx £900 used.

so just thought, save meself some work, flog the fletcher as-is, ruin another credit card and get something newer.

this whole thought process started when i thought i may have an offer of a 2000 promax 225 efi against my fletcher....but lets just say there was a "descrepency" between my valuation of the two items and his!

this crossed my mind today...except i just bought all the wiring loom for a merc

There's an old Bonito in the background of that pic! they were feckin orible! Noel Edmunds raced one, and famously had steering failure resulting in a wee crash! can't remember if it hit a yacht, or Bouremouth pier, summat like that anyway.

yeh move it over MR Mod,

by "improved i ment" p/ups nose cone etc.....just couldnee be assed to type it all...

do you agree it could all start getting expensive against lets say a promax, that (a) TD gave me the deal of a lifetime on (and he'd have to give it to me 4 it to be that!!!) or, more likely (b) get a 2/3yur old model from the states when i'm over there 1st week oct.

whichever way you slice it, i'll be doing the mods over the winter, by which time my merc will have 10 candels on his cake!

Yeah but I'm sure when Nick spoke of mid section he would have meant all of it!, the domestic trim has two trim and one tilt ram, it aint no good. race one has only one ram and is way more durable, in fact there is no comparison.

trouble is, you lot dont quite know "the nature of this beast". It takes a super-human effort to actually get me to do anything...even stuff i'm supposed to love.

I just fear that once i stick whatever engine i do on this boat....it'll feckin stay there coz i wont be arsed to change it!!!!

speaking of shite 3 ram trims, summer b4 last i had to change the trim motor....this required me stripping and rebuilding a 2nd hand one (best of 2, sorta thung) and that took me the whole of July to get round to doing!

went in a driver once, that had a single ram trim (with pump motor inboard) that tilt was rapid.

MMmnnn, there's two sides to a lot of that tho', with a iccle skeg, high 'X' and a shed load of out trim, you aint got no 'flight' (as in dart) keepin the fecker going forward, and goin backward at that speed makes ya arse pucker up summat horrible
