Angry

Hi Byrtu, I thought the movement was in the bushes, as I read a lot about it, in different threads. When I got the mid off, it was obvious that the play was in the bottom yoke. I tried the lock seal earlier and it's done the trick, only, I can't get it off now. Off to engineers in a minute, will have to be nice to him. He has shortened the shift shaft and made me a 2mm spacer for the top of the spindel. That should tighten it all up, fingers crossed.

Peter

Hi Chris, you're right about the water temp over here. Not got gear case on yet, still waiting for someone to do it, I've not got the tools. Sorted steering out though. Had a 2mm nylon spacer made up, fitted that between the original spacer and the bottom yoke, fitted new oil seal to top and O ring to bottom, filled it with grease and no play at all, shaking the boat trying to move the engine.

Got water pressure gauge on its way from the states and looking for a decent water temp gauge also. Better to be safe than sorry. If it's too high (bullet point 8cm below hull) then the other option has got to be a nose cone, with low water pick ups. We will see, watch this space. Hope to upload a decent speed picture soon, from GPS.
