Chevy Small Block Camshaft choice

Hello, I'm in the process of rebuilding a Chevy Small Block. It is to be built with after market aluminium heads. I would like to fit a roller camshaft. What are the best specifications regarding lift, duration etc for a marine application? Is the camshaft timing different with roller camshafts? Thanks for any help. Russ

Hi Andy, Freebooter has been stripped out, engine and drive out and rewired now. Inspection of the engine revealed a huge crack in the block from not being winterised, so is scrap. A real shame as it had done no work since being rebuilt years ago. I've got another block now that i'm going to try and get 400HP out of. She's under cover now, so getting a bit of work done in this beautiful weather! i'll let you know when she's running. Regards Russ
