chrylsler 140 outboards, Any good ?
Going to look at a chrysler 140 outboard tomorrow, owner seems to know nothing about it but says it around 5 - 10 years old, any advice ? cheers

chrysler 140 its older than that about 1984. not nice

I think you'll find they are the same, Force Outboards started in the early 80's when Bayliner Boats bought Chrysler Outboards.

These are great as an anchor but as an engine they were a disaster and must be 1978-1980 at the latest.

HaHa, I had e feeling they were rubbish, as Chrylser cant make a decent car, Thanks for all advice from guys from here so far, just hope that when I get a bit of boating experience that I can be of help to others,

1978 to 1984 - tended to have a bit of pull as usually high cc for power output. Were brought into UK in Eastleigh near Southampton - did the course in 1977 as we were a dealer.
