Danger Will Robinson #6

Danger will robinson #6

Interesting thing I've been finding on the last two motors ( 1 260 - 1 Drag ) that I have torn down this week after a supposed "fresh"rebuild by people supposed in the know that during these rebuilds they are missing ..

On the V6 Racing High Performance motors ALL of the front half case bolts should have flat washers installed. Also the middle 8 large 3/8" bolts are NOT the same length. The top two are 3 1/2" long and the other 6 are 3 1/4" inches long and have 3 different final torque values...

Bottom 2 torque @ 35 Ft lbs
Middle 4 torque @ 40 ft lbs
Top 2 torque @ 45 Ft lbs

Jay

Hi Jay,

Ankle no where near a 100%, but the good news is back in training (no skiing). Feeling better and ankle is starting to shape up, legs surprisingly strong still, even though noticable muscle wastage on left leg (not the biggest legs to start with!).
Will spend this season teaching my girls to ski and messing about.
Boat is ok, engine looks fine (took your advcie ref oil etc). Need to sort out the lifter with Si Dowling & Burtys help and then she's already to go
Aim is to race 2012, so if dollar falls against the pound later this year or early next year, expect a power head for a rebuild
All ok with you guys??

We are all fine here but covered up with work.... I have 9 2.5 Hi Per Motors here I'm working mostly Drag race and hot lake motors...I am building 2-3 a week to keep up.. Let me know what I can do to help out. Simon Dowling e-mailed the other day inquiring about buying a set of Wizard pistons so I knew something was in the works ...

Cheers,
Jay and Cathy Smith @ JSRE
