i dont know which one but i'm pretty sure roofer had one for sale a while back that did all the motors

Matt you need the cartridge that reads pcm 555, it does all the opti's, some mercruiser's and the verado's.

Outboard vs5.0 is for high perf 2 stroks V6 outboards, along with early Optimax's, Promax's, 4 strokes, EFI, DEFI, and others and Smartcraft vs1.31 is for "I believe" 2000 and later Mercruiser, Optimax's and others.

So I could use either? Do both offer the same functionality?

I have vs 5.0 and vs1.31 and they work on everything except 2005 2.5 efi.
I have used on all optimax,250xs 225xs optimax thing 200xs 300x promax. hope this helps.

Hi, Ill try both carts in ddt on monday and plug into 2003 optimax. Ill then send you part no of what you need. I may have a spare one if your interested. Cheers steve. I know cookie used my ddt on his 200 xs and it worked fine.

Thanks Steve. I feel like a bit of a dunce at the moment since I don't have either the motor or a service manual yet so don't know what is & isn't compatible.

I've found a number of options for DDT's all with different cartridges - so as per the posts above, I'm focusing on ones with 1.31 cartridges, but have also found a potential candidate with a 1.2 cartridge - hence the question. If the 1.2 cartridge isn't compatible, is a 1.31 cartridge much money? And are they still available - isn't it all changnig over to CDS anyway?

Hi, you need ver 5.0 and yes I have a spare one, so make me an offer and ill find out what they are new. As for all going the lap top way instead of ddt Yam,suz,toh, all use laptops they have their problems ie, batt going flat, lcd screen, but you can print out customers engine telemetry. I suppose they will go that way. cheers steve.

I would say 5.0 100% right. This is the one we use. And we do have a spare one if you want to buy.
