EFI water pipe

Started fitting the EFI this evening and the new exhaust tuner and sandwich plate came without a water pipe and the XR2 / XS200 stuff I have has smaller diameter pipes - I will need a new water pipe and pump housing to convert to the larger bore pipe - I assume it wouldn't be safe to run with the smaller diameter pipe? The engine is a 280hp 2.5 EFI.
