A mate of mine has a ring 21 with a 250 yam HPDI with a 25" mid, and it's damn near imposible to drive, it's also a lefty so that's not helping either.

Another buddy has a P16 with a 175 merc 2.4 on it and it's amazing!

Look for a 260 merc EFI, better gearcase too!

Alan

Hiya guys,

Thanks for all the reply's and info...

Have been busy working on the boat over the last few weeks, most of the time spent sanding and touching up some small scratches... She now has a couple of coats of red on her, unfortunately it hasn't covered perfect, the finish is good, just a couple of marks showing from the different colours underneath..

The interior is comming along slowly.. have re covered the side board bits and almost done the back bench seat, been reading through this thread and quite tempted by a set of the high bach seats... http://boatmad.com/forum/showthread....ighlight=seats

I've been keeping an eye out on B&O for engines, noticed this Evinrude has been on for a while... http://www.boatsandoutboards.co.uk/view/F188571 Does anybody here know some history on the engine? Are they reliable? (as reliable as a 12 year old motor can be lol)

Any info would be greatly appreciated

Thanks again, Andy

still no worries do you have a few pictures of the engine and possibly a video of it running? Live in the channel isles so viewing engines in the UK isn't all that easy :-(

Tony, what does the "mid" bit mean? :-S and where do you measure to get the 20" part? :-D Have spotted a couple of engines locally but not too sure if they'd be suitable...

Thanks for the replies! Appreciated!

Andy

"mid" is the mid section (the middle bit between the bottom of the power head and the top of the gearbox)
comes in 15, 20 and 25"

Transom dimesions

Hello,

Would someone be able to tell the standard transom height for a Ring 21...

The reason I ask is that my transom appears to have been raised by a few inches... from inside the transom well it is quite clear to see a join mark but from outside the boat it all looks original... (I will try and post some pics later today..) Would like to know if it has been modified or not..

Wondered if this might affect the length of engine I would want...

Cheers again!

Andy
