Fishfinder info please

I'm thinking of getting a fish finder but there are so many and so many features it is tricky for a newbie like me to choose.

I'd like it for a bit of fishing (well had to), something to give me depth for my diving and I'd like it to run speed too as I dont have any gauges at all.

Any tips on which/what to go for and second hand ideas (working on a budget) would be great.

Thanks

I would look for a combined GPS fishfinder if you don't have a GPS already - one screen two jobs!

Thanks for the tip but I dont think I could afford one.

I'm after something like the garmin 140 blue really.

I'm not sure on others that have similar features like the fishfinder, depth and speed, thats all I want for wizzing about round near me.

I've got a spare Navman Fish 4150SX unit here, which will offer everything you're looking for. It has a Mono screen, around 4", with a decent fishfinder display, with depth shown in metres or feet and a speed reading too, via the paddle wheel on the transducer. It also has a log feature where you can keep a note of running hours, etc.
Unit is around 5 years old and the transducer was new last year - only used for a couple of hours max.
It comes with a mounting bracket which tilts and swivels, or it can be easily flush mounted.
PM me if it's of interest to you.
