fuel pump xr2

Hi all

Gonna replace my eleci pump for my xr2 as its lookin a bit worse for wear and would rather it didnt give up in the midddle of the solent. Currently running a facet but no idea which one as its been painted.

Happy to go with another facet as the current one has been good for past few seasons but not sure which model to get. Was gonna go for competition silver top specced at 5-6psi and 27gph. Does that sound about right? Red tops are 6-7.25 which i thought was too much pressure for the carbs

Cheers

Just go back to mechanical and be done with it! They work fine and are less likely to let you down!

Don't like holleys, or a solid state Facet, I recommend Carter or Weldon if you can afford it but the carter is a rotary vane like the holley, seems far more reliable and is cheaper.

Thanks for the advice. I was gonna go for another interrupter type, not the solid state cube type. Really just need to know the spec though?
Is 5-6psi about right?
Cheers

Plenty of guys ran the mechanical / vacuum pumps back in he XR2 days without any trouble at all, I agree with Scotty. I would take any oportunity to avoid reliance on unecessary electrical stuff when salt water is involved.

Except for Portsmouth>Plymouth. Didn't a wire fall off, or chafe through?

The electrical pumps clearly deliver plenty of fuel, I'd just be worried about the extra complexity.

manual bilge pump handle worked loose and then chaffed a wire....rather frustrating indeed
