how to prepare fibreglass

ive just cut out the transom and stringers in my p21 and a friend replacing them with new wood/fibreglass,ive keyed up the whole inside of the boat with a p36 fibre disc ready for the fibre glassing but have now been told by somebody else that i should get the inside of the boat sand blasted for a better bond with the new fibreglass,is this necessary?

I can't see it improving things. All the advice I was given was to sand it as you've done. Main thing is to have no loose material, and to give it a bloody good clean with acetone first.
Having seen the mess blasting leaves, I can't see it helping. Use vinylester resin instead of polyester, better stick.
P21 is looking good, moving along fast!

Sweet! Tell me about getting different advice, I don't think any two of about 30 people I've spoken to about mine agreed with each other!
At the end of the day everyone's got their ow ways and beliefs, I'd say the most important bit is the acetone wipedown though. Look at the shocking way mine was built, and that lasted 20 years!

Enjoying the itch?

That should be fine, you could use a small angle grinder with a sanding disc or a wire brush on it .most resins have wax added to reduce the styrene ,the wax rises to the top as the resin goes off which is why you should key up the surface when putting new mat-resin down .and as James said wipe over with acetone too, and make sure the surface is dry.
