hull paint
Hi all
Does anybody know which paint is the best to use on a hull.
I was going to gelcoat all the chips and chunks that i have along the spray rails and mark and scratches inbetween them, but it will take forever to finish
I'm thinking of using fairing compound to fill them all and paint the entire hull afterwards, this way i stand a chance of getting it in the water this year
Should i use an epoxy marine paint or will 2k car paint be man enough for the job
Thanks
Kev

Paint
All depends if the boat is staying in the water permanently.
2K car paints look awesome but ive generally found they dont like to sit in water permanently. If it spends more time on a trailer than in the sea then I would stick to automotive paint but im sure others will disagree
Awlgrip do probably the best paint but at a price...but it is marine specific.
International is also good

I agree, good paint but expensive. I done my P21 with it and more than 4 years later it's like new. Boat is not left in the water for long periods though.

Tintorera
Hi Kev, I notice you have a Tintorera, would it be a yellow one? If so we know the history of this boat, if you're interested. We are building the Tintorera in the UK, if you need any help or advice.
