scroll down to Filling & Purging Instructions ,that did help me and use the right oil ! .

i do have a Hynautic steering helm and cylinder, what is now serviced by teleflex/seastar .
some boaters use dextron hydraulik oils from automotiv, but some people telling about a hard and stiff steering. the dextron has not the low viscosity as the marine and Aeronautic's oil .
in my system is right now a deep red oil ,looks to me like dextron to ??,i will change to hlp 22 in next weeks.
i was searching for the right oil here, and i found http://www.svb.de/ ,on catolog page 254 they recomend Lqui Molly HLP22 Hydraulik Oil on all steerings and auto pilots,7 euros a liter here in a hellweg homedepo.
Shell Aeroshell Fluid 41 works also, 10 euros here 1 liter
