lenco tabs breaking

anyone had any issues with lenco trim tabs, they keep bending, and now are spliting at the hinge. They are 12x12 edge mount units.

Has anyone experienced lenco warranty returns, seems it will be a bit pointless getting the same again, so possibly I should beef them up??

This is the damage from 45miles on saturday

Hi Glen

Just out of curiosity what thickness is the metal that they are made from ?

You may need to use the high performance Lenco one’s, they are 7 gauge (3.67mm) and look a lot stronger.

Just to update. Lenco offered replacement tabs under warranty, I asked if I could pay the extra to upgrade to high performance tabs. But they insisted on supplying me with the new upgraded high performance tab free of charge. Very happy and far superior.

In response to your original query, the previous owner had a metal grid welded on top and a couple of other we know had this done too. It adds considerable strength and was not expensive I understand. Please report back when you've fitted the new hi performance ones as they look pretty nifty
