I didn't mean literally 2 blocks glued together and I agree about it being a beautiful engine.
I still love the last of the V8 Vantage's though, serious looks & serious performance - especially the Brunei '200 mph' specials, one of the fastest accelerating cars over 100 mph I have ever had the good fortune to be involved with. I am sure there are faster more refined cars but I would love one over anything Italian.

A pal of mine had what I think was a Le Mans 600. twin supercharged Zagato bodied thing. The grunt was truly mind blowing. Under full acceleration in the lower gears it felt like it should break something, but the handling was a mere shadow of the straight line performance, in fact, it felt dangerous.

Sadly 'tis true, the V8's were very heavy & not the most nimble of cars around the bends, plus the suspension was designed in the days of IK Brunel. Still love to own a 600 though.

Four things sell Aston Martins, the shape, the engines, the leather & the desirability of the brand.
Everything else just rusts, breaks or falls off!

V8 600
A couple of scans of piccy's from back in the day when we had a visit from them & they came down in the prototype 'Brunei spec (as they still call it) car' for us to run some tests with them. Boy that thing had some serious grunt, we went up & down the dual carriageway near here about 3 times before it was clear enough to open her up, I will always remember passing a guy on a pushbike as we hit 175 & the chap driving had to hit the brakes for a roundabout 1/4 mile ahead! I have often wondered what we sounded like as we passed him at that speed at full throttle with both blowers screaming.

Looks a bit Ferrari-esk from the back with those round tail lights. I like it.

if my numbers come up, ill definately buy an aston, they have a status that cant be matched in britain in imho. But I do remember working on a db7 or db9 in the 90's and while wiring a virtually brand new car with the sexiest engine note id ever heard, it was very sadening that every switch in the car had ford stamped on it behind the scenes. Still wanted one though

They bought Chris Tremlett moulded wooden hulls, & fitted them out, & as far as I know, & marinised & fitted the Aston Martins, giving, I think, 300 bhp each.
However, the boat or boats never performed, due to ... ... ... engine problems !
Not sure of many more details, but the outfit folded after about three years I seem to remember !

sorry for the delay in reply but my PC was down for 10 days.....
Another Tremlett, fitted with twin Aston Martins by Offshore Powerboats Ltd was a 29 footer called "Mordicus", it is pictured in an early ( late 60s?/early 70s ) Tremlett brochure see below
