Merc Trim

All joking aside what is the actual size & type of fitting that goes into the power trim ram, yes the thread is a UNF, JIC & AN, had all of em fitted in the hole. What I want is whatever the fitting is with a 90 deg to a -4 to reduce the number of connectors but buggered if I kjnow what type it is SAE flare ???

Something like this would do the job. Mysterious Mercury thread with 1/4" high pressure swaged on hose end. Also available as a complete hose assembly, as long as you like!

Presumably Scooby Doo could supply them since the Mystery Machine must have em.

I suspect you'll find age has caught up with you and the younger generation will be showing you how it's done. In fact, I've heard Chaos has started pre-ordering so they have enough food in stock.

So shall we solve this "Grail" or not

The thread type is a 3/8" (24 TPI) UNF it is a common SAE flare used on US Car Brake systems it is a double flare as opposed to the UK single flare

MR Rob is quite correct in that hoses can be custom made by morelandhose.com in NY
or if you can get away with it (space determined) you could fit an adaptor straight into the ram to convert to -4 (Aeroquip #FCM2927 3/8 male x #4 AN Caliper Fitting) this is whats used to upgrade brake lines on motors to the Aeroqip hose & get rid of those rigid lines.

That said I'm going to try & convince the guy & work to Cut my existing hoses on the Flex hose & fit some -4 ends.... MMMMMHHHHH!!!!!!! When did I last piss him off

-3, -4. -6 -8 ect is the size in 1/16's of an inch it is based on the US A/N Standard (Army Navy) 37 Deg cone
so -4 is 4/16 -6 is 6/16.
The Merc Fitting in the ram is NOT A/N but SAE (US) having a. think its a 42 deg flare (poss 45) not the AN
