This confused me yesterday, I plugged the temp guage into the tan/blue wire and the o/heat buzzer went off (without the engine being started!).
I guess tan/blue must be the o/heat and brown the temp guage.

Check the brown wires from the snap switches are isolated from earth, maybe one of them is faulty.

Also check where the feed is taken from at the dash end cus mine used to do that and it turned out that the feed had been taken from the back of the rev counter but had been connected to the signal rather than the 12V and as a result it was floating around all over the shop and causing the buzzer to go off spuriously.

Must be a faulty snap switch then I guess maybe you've damaged one of the wires somewhere. As I said check the isolation between the switch wires and earth.
