Mercury 175 1979 Bleed hoses

Hi, Does any one have any info on the rubber bleed hoses on a 1979 merc 175, The hoses seem to limk the crank case (or crank cases) to the carbs and also one to the airbox, What do they do ?
Thanks,

bleed hose

found this for you

It routes pooled fuel from behind the reed valves to some point where it can be used.

They need to be in good shape.
They need to be fuel line. Tygon will work, but probably not marine certified.
Murkery hose is expensive, but will probably last another 25 years.
They run fuel, so they usually stay clean.
The check valves should be checked if suspect.
Symptoms of failure is usually bad idle.
