Mercury Trim Pump Fault

Just refitted this pump and it lifts the engine but not down if I swap the hoses it works the oposite, the motor works in both direction,is this likely to be a pump valve problem or any suggestions.Cheers Nic if anyone is going to poole at the weekend and has a spare pump could they bring it,the faulty pump I have is for the lifter and I can still race without this working, its the pump type with the steel bowl held on by a screw with the solenoids mounted on the body. I've got a busy day to get my boat ready but fingers crossed.

Solenoids

Sounds like one of the solenoids isn't working!
