missfire
engine has developed a slight (slight lol)
missfire
struggles to initialy pull away, and then pops all the way up to around the 6000rpm mark
ive tried new plugs but that hasnt seemed to solve anything and im fitting replacemet leads an will test them on sunday,
this is probobly way to breif a description to get much feed back
but if you ask any questions about symptoms i wil do my best to answer them as accuartely as possible
cheers chris

Popping or backfiring certainly sounds electrical.

yea, thats what burty (am i allowed to say his name???) said
im hoping its the leads
but failing that
it going to be either the trigger, stator, one (or more) of the coil packs
or a bad earth
is any one good at fault finding out there???

Wot ya mean pops? Do you mean the engine coughs/spits back from the carbs i.e sounds like its sneezing?

its difficult to describe
you notice it far more when our not on the boat
when i say popping, its almost the sounds you get when popcorn starts to ...ummm. pop
not a good description i know, but thats the best i could do
it doesnt sound like crabs because theres no great sudden oss of power at any point, apart from when under load when pulling away
its just down on power overall
thers no "sneezing or any thing at idle either

Could it be a possibility that a coil has gone south and jumping the spark onto the block?
