As they said in "Jaws" I think we are going to need a bigger boat.

Personally I prefer the simplicity of outboards, service costs are lower and my view is the fourstrokes seem more reliable, no outbdrive to service or bellows to do deal with either. When I get a alarger boat I would like something about 30 foot with outboards rather than a mercruiser. Our marina dries out and the shallow water where we live is perfect for outboards rather than outdrives sitting in the mud. There do not seem to be many boats avaialble that are sport cruisers with outboards in the 30 foot range. Hoping these larger outboards will encourage builders to incease outboard options on these types of boats.

Of course! Although 1000+ hp would be a bit over the top for our 34 - a pair of 300 or 350hp Verado's would be much more like it and a fraction of the weight. They were launched a=in February at the Miami boat show but only as a prototype so you'll have to wait a while before you see them on this side of the pond.

Hi Taz I know would love to catch up we have had a new baby 7 week old Hugo, working in Leigh now instead of London with my own business www.lighthouseit.co.uk doing some great new business deals if anyone is after pretty much anything IT or Telecoms wise. Additionally brought a little Spitfire for the kids that I have done up www.stewartwatkins.com/speedy

Which could do with some more HP to be honest but 557HP is a bit too much!

Give me a bell and will sort something out with the wife or a pint on afternoon mid week?

BTW - why don’t you just convert your P28 into a sports cruiser rather than a race boat? The Boat and engines are all in good nick then you would have the accommodation?
