New kid on the block

After a bit of advice guys maybe someone whos been in the same situation..

Just bought a 70s fletcher woth a yammy 55 2 stroke outboard.

Took it out and after a bit of trouble with the throttle it eventually bogged down on me and then failed to start at all.

First thought waa bad battery and charge system. Have had both checked and are fine.

Now thinking its overheating?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated
