Offshore Leg on Regular Swivel Bracket ?

Hi Guys,

have to take my powerhead of to change the cowl and
in one way i am thought about to change my 20 mid to an 20 offshore mid.

will it fit on my regular swivel bracket assembly and transom bracket with the outside trim pump . or does the 4 bolts/studs not align with swivel pine and steering arm and bottom yoke of a stock one.

what are the main benefit of an offshore leg ?, the rigid mounting studs instead of the motor mounts ,what i would change to aluminum on my stock mid if i keep it.

the one piece exhaust plate ? better as a two piece ? better cooling passages ? better exhaust passages ?

more horsepower ? better revs ?

the sound ? or is it to load on a river with greenpeace people living close by

thanks for your help
just start to get my knowledge on that screaming outboards

michael

- yes it will fit
- more noise (but you can mount a exhaust block-off plate)
- offshore is stronger but weighs also more
- performance: dont think it will make a diff.
- 2 piece is best way to cool a steel sleeve engine and keep it at the right temp.

I have a 2.5L on a 2.5 offshore and 2 piece adapter. All the promaxes came with 2 piece adapters (except for some 15"'s). Most builders just advise to stick with the 2 piece plate.

does the offshore swivel bracket assembly and transom bracket do have more offset ? to move the engine more backwards as a stock one

Thats setback instead of offset.

And no...

Only the 15" mid has 2" built in setback.
