It's a snide 28, made in Belgium/Holland by some rascal who hadn't quite got the hang of it.

It's got steps in the bottom, but they would have been better on the sides to make it easier to board. It's rumoured that it was built light and cheap to try out the feasibility of a stepped 28, it wasn't very successful!!!!

www.chaudron-powerboats.com

Thier shamless copy of the 28 looks very nice in the pictures, but heh thats no way to tell! I'd be interested in knowing how much?

Also try http://users.skynet.be/sky34435/ thats Raffshore (some belgiun nobbers who i'm sure have some association with the original bernico 21/23). They claim to have the moulds for the Phantom 28. Dont quote me but i'm sure Jon has already verified that thats Toss!!!

Bert, Just a question....wouldnt you prefer to purchase something where you have some input/ feedback/ comeback wher its build is concerned???? If you opted for even an extreme 21, wouldnt this have all what you want?? space (7ft beam), free range of colours, i'm sure you could fit a hob & a shitta in thier somehow. I may be talkin out me arse, but i think 1x IB would be adequate or you could go bracket + 2x normal 150/200 and have a pretty quick boat.

Just a thought

It'd be cool if someone had the conviction to build a genuine performance 30ft'r over here.............how many peeps on BM would be saving thier pennies for one???

the extreme 24 is what i will probably go for 60k new looking to spend about 20k + for the right boat which is about what they are going for 1998 not going to be for a while originally wanted an outboard but since i have had all this hassle with mine maybe try inboard there just does not seem to be much else in this bracket
would like something a bit different phantom 28 lovely but to big and heavy only want one engine nice scarab on e bay though but bit under powered i think want something to keep the missus happy but then rag the shit out of it when out with mates
i`am a speed freak

Black one is sold, guy has bought it to ship abroad. The race boat that holds the current speed record had a 502efi Mercruiser, around 450hp but the boat was a special!

The rumour of 60k is for a Yanmar powered 26, but the price isn't cast in stone. I've done a deal to sell the moulds to a customer who wants to build them, and that's the figure he has mentioned.

A 24 is a very similar boat, but my prices are much lower as I'm a registered charity I'm always ready to do a deal. Any small profit that I make goes to feed stray dogs, wild horses and the odd pie for myself.

I've also got a very profitable paper round so I don't really need the money!!!!

Bert Alert

Listen Berty, you heard the man!!

Thats really not a lot of dosh for a spankin new boat + i reckon if you fill him with Pies & beer and do the deal just before closing time......you'll steal one from him (sorry Tony ).

Then i reckon you import 2x225 25inchers from the states or pick up a couple of Xr2s on the cheap!!!!!!!

bobs ya uncle.....Nice, cheap & fast

Do the deal soon and we can test run'm together!
