Outdrive exhaust temp.

Can anyone tell me, approximately, the temperature of the exhaust from a diesel engine in the exit pipe after the raw water has been mixed with it?

Ta.

As a general rule, if the water discharge into the steamhose/exhaust pipe is good and equal throughout the circumference, you can happily touch any part of the wet exhaust, I would definitely say sub 100 C, assuming wet end flow is equal.

There's a rule somewhere in racing, that no part of the engine that can be touched (inc exhaust) must go above about 80C I think, will look it up.
