There is no need to use peel ply if you are using polyester resin.

Reason to use peel ply is when you laminate with epoxy and you have to leave it to dry with the intention of putting down a layer later. Peel ply on before it drys- coming back later after its all dry - peel off the peel ply and then continue. (you'll now have an rough matt surface left after the peel-off of peel ply.) When polyester you just grind the dry surface in order to let the new layer stick, this is hard to do with epoxy as the surface is more "fat" when dry.
Hope I am correct and that I did not make it unecessary complicated !
Good luck !

Also quite good if you're using low emission (waxy) poly resin, as it leaves a nice key for whatever's going on next, also, as Kitten pointed out to me, it's excellent for tidying the edges of woven stuff during the cure (the alternative being a strip of chopped along the edge of the woven to hold the stray bits down)

There are two types of peel ply, one for poly and one for epoxy.
State you need it for poly when ordering.
If you have it already, just do a test and make sure it releases.
