piston retainer ring

Hi, can anyone help on this cos its really playing on my mind!
I rebuit a spare xr2 powerhead recently and slightly bent one of the piston gudgeon clips, I was gonna replace it before I put everything back together but forgot! What's the chances of it breaking? (got a feeling I already know the answer to this one!)

No No No No No. There is a special tool to insert the circlip. I have seen many many ventilated blocks from circlips falling out after cheap rebuilds, posted about it here not so long ago.
