Power Trim Wiring (Old & New)

Can any of you wonderfull folk shed some light on my wiring problem?

Any Merc V6 i've ever seen has had a simple trim-sender that has a browne/white (signal) wire + a ground wire that run up through the cowling base; ground is bolted in situe, signal connects through the main loom up to the dash & onto the guage.

Now i'm slightly struggling as my loom (current standard Merc type) has the relevant attachment for the brown/whire signal wire... BUT...after tracing back through the jungle of 'spare' wires on the Promax, i find my trim-sender has 3 wires!!!!!!!!

BLUE ?
YELLOW ?
BLACK (I assume as gnd)

any ideas?

thanks in advance peeps

Been through my books but they only go upto 2001 they show the nice brown wire we all know and love.

Edit: If you connet the blue & yellow together that will make a brown wire DONT DO IT JOKING
